Park4Night lists parking areas where you can park for the night, often for free. The places include pubs, aires, lay-bys and fields. This App covers the UK and many European countries. With France Passion you can stay on land owned or managed by farmers, breeders and winegrowers, who invite you to park for free on their properties for 24 hours. You may get the opportunity to taste cheeses, wines from all vineyards, organic fruits and vegetables, olive oil, cold meats, honey and foie gras. Campercontact

The Campercontact app lists campervan and motorhome sites in the UK and abroad and is updated by users of the sites. The sites include places where you can camp in the wild. With Caramaps you can search for campsites in the UK or abroad, plan your route, including fuel stops. See App

CampingCard ACSI

You can stay at more than 3,000 campsites in 23 European countries at a discounted rate during the low season with an ACSI Card. The ACSI app gives you a map of all of the campsites that accept ACSI. You pay a fee for the Card. See App

Google Maps

Google Maps is useful for everyday navigation, checking live traffic, finding fuel stations, restaurants and attractions, reading business reviews and planning stops along your route. You can also download areas for offline use before travelling somewhere with poor mobile coverage. See App

Waze

Waze is particularly useful on driving days because it uses real-time community reports for traffic, accidents, road closures, hazards and speed camera alerts. Fuel prices can also be shown in Waze, with prices updated by users, so there is no need for a separate Waze fuel-price app. See App

Sygic Truck GPS Navigation

Sygic Truck provides you with smart route planning and navigation, 3D offline maps, realtime traffic and precise ETA, speed cameras warnings and an easy-to-use interface. The app offers navigation specially tailored to specifications of: truck / HGV / RV / caravan / motorhome / camper / van / bus / car/ or car with trailer. See App

PetrolPrices

PetrolPrices helps you compare petrol and diesel prices at filling stations around the UK. You can search by location, view nearby stations and compare prices before deciding where to fill up, which can be especially useful on longer touring journeys. See App

Met Office Weather

The Met Office Weather app provides UK forecasts, weather warnings, rain maps and detailed information including wind and hourly conditions. For motorhome and campervan trips this can help with driving conditions, awning safety, outdoor cooking, campsite comfort and planning ferry crossings. See App

Windy

Windy provides detailed visual weather maps covering wind, rain and storms, together with marine and other forecast layers. It is particularly useful when staying at exposed coastal campsites or when checking conditions before using an awning, travelling by ferry or spending time near the coast. See App

Speedtest by Ookla

Speedtest by Ookla lets you test the download and upload speed of a mobile or Wi-Fi connection. It is a simple way to check whether campsite Wi-Fi or your mobile connection is fast enough for streaming, video calls or working online. See App

Opensignal

Opensignal can test mobile and Wi-Fi speeds and provides signal maps that help you compare network performance in an area. That can be useful when choosing a campsite or overnight stop where a dependable mobile-data connection matters. See App

AllTrails

AllTrails is useful for finding walks and trails near campsites and touring stops. It includes route maps, difficulty information, reviews and GPS navigation, with offline map features available for supported plans. See App

Polarsteps

Polarsteps automatically tracks your route and lets you build a travel journal with photos, notes and an interactive map. Trips can be shared with friends and family, and its tracking can continue while you are offline, making it well suited to longer motorhome tours. See App

Flush Toilet Finder

Flush Toilet Finder helps you locate public toilets while travelling. It covers a large international database and can show details such as disabled access, whether a fee is required and directions to the toilet, making it handy on travel days and when exploring towns on foot. See App

XE Currency

XE Currency is useful when touring abroad for checking live exchange rates and converting prices into pounds. You can also set rate alerts and use its international money-transfer features if required. See App

Revolut

Revolut can be useful for European touring because it lets you hold and exchange multiple currencies, monitor spending and use a payment card while travelling. Fees and exchange limits vary by plan, so check the current terms before relying on it for a trip. See App

Wise

Wise is another useful option for travelling abroad, with multi-currency balances, currency conversion and an international payment card. It can make it easier to understand what you are spending in local currency while touring across several countries. See App

what3words

what3words divides the world into 3 metre squares and gives each square a unique three-word address. It can be helpful for identifying an exact pitch entrance, remote parking location, rural campsite or meeting point where a normal postcode is not precise enough. See App

First Aid by British Red Cross

The British Red Cross First Aid app provides step-by-step guidance for common first aid emergencies, together with videos and learning tools. Importantly for touring, the first aid guidance can be used offline once the app is installed. See App

VictronConnect

If your motorhome or campervan uses compatible Victron equipment, VictronConnect can show live information from products such as solar chargers and battery monitors and can also be used to configure supported devices. It is a hardware-specific app rather than a general solar-monitoring app. See App

Renogy DC Home

Renogy DC Home is designed for compatible Renogy equipment and can display information such as battery levels, charging status and device data in real time. It can also be used to change settings on supported Renogy devices. See App

EcoFlow

The EcoFlow app lets owners of compatible EcoFlow power stations and power systems monitor capacity, charging, input and output and control supported equipment from a phone. It is useful if your off-grid touring setup already uses EcoFlow hardware. See App

GasNinja

GasNinja is a simple Android app for estimating how much gas remains in a bottle. You enter the current bottle weight together with the values marked on the cylinder and the app calculates the approximate amount of gas remaining. See App
